Coaching Mandate

Throughout the semester, you will be assigned a team  and a partner to coach. This includes building a relationship of teamwork and mentorship to help one another. 

Coach Session 

Dedicate 15 minutes to speak or meet with your assigned peer to come up with 3 help points that you can assist them with. 
1 must be related to the course, 2 other ones can be related to student life at the college. Your goal is to make sure your peer feel at ease and that you are there to help them improve. 

There are a 2 Coach Session Check-Ins, both sessions will be held in class. 

Captain has a say on the participation. If the person does not show up in class or is unavailable, they will receive a grade of 0. 
The Captain will be the one sending in the report and will not wait for absent students.

What do to after a coach session? 

Create a short report session 1 and session 2 (you should meet 2 times across the semester, not all at the same time). 

Here is a template:

Date & Time : Sep 6th at 5:00PM by zoom call. 

General talk points: 
We spoke about student life, stress with exams and how we can make better food for ourselves. 

3 help points each: 

• Samie - I will help Bob review his weekly schedule and encourage him to go to the gym 2 times a week 
• Samie - I will help Bob review his literature review when he is done and provide feedback points 
• Samie - I will help Bob work on his grammar and referencing 
• Bob - I will help Samie with her presentation skills so that she is not afraid next time she presents
• Bob - I will help Samie discover different clubs at the school and meet some new friends 
• Bob - I will help Samie plan her LIA project so that she doesn't fall behind. 

Next call is scheduled for : Sep 27th, at 5:00pm by phone call
