PART IV: Deck Architecture

Once the story is clear, you can begin designing the deck, but not by opening PowerPoint. Your first job is to translate the case story into a sequence of messages the audience can follow. Only then should you decide how those messages will appear visually. This part focuses on two disciplines:

  1. Build the deck before you build the slides.

  2. Give each slide one primary message.

The goal is to create a deck that reads as a single, connected argument rather than a collection of individual analyses. Story First; Slides Second.
